The Mothena Cave is located in Martvili, on the Askha array at the left side of the Abasha River. The cave is two-stories, and has a continuously flowing stream which falls into the Abasha River. A mortared stony wall was built in an open gorge and has gun-ports in it, which was apparently used as a protective fortress. The Cave consists of two large halls, distinguished by the abundance of stalactites, stalagmites, travertine cascades, and huge boulders. The Cave is located at 473 meters above sea level, endlessly delighting the visitors.
